    Hi Garrie,
    When replacing a blade have the point just sticking out a smidge so you can hardly see it and reduce your pressure a bit. Cut some simple squares, circles or fine text, it shouldn’t mark or cut through the back of the backing sheet, if it does you have too much pressure. On a new blade I find that weeding should be clean and an easy task.

    I’d recommend a smart knife – no fuss at all and cheaper to get reground than buying a new knife.

    Haven’t looked back since getting a couple.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the advice, I know how to setup the blade, I just hate doing it, I never get it spot on first time.

    Interestly I’ve always had the blade set just to mark the backing paper slightly.

    Russell, though blades do sound a good idea 😀
