    Hi All

I have just been told the graphic I was applying tomorrow to a counter now needs to be mounted on a board as the last covering has been pulled off and the counter is now covered in contact adhesive glue.

Will foamex stick with contact adhesive if I scuff the surface, was thinking of using 1mm thick foamex just to give it a smooth finish over the glue surface.

what’s the best option without having to clean the counter down 100% as it’s a big counter and there’s not much time with all the other work needing doing in the shop for Saturday opening.

    cheers

    Warren

why don’ t you screw the foamex to the frame and mount your graphic to the foamex?

if you are going to use contact adhesive then don’t use pink grip because it melt’s foamex, i’d use stixall. we used it here to mount some dressed stone to chip board on some display houses we made for the Yorkshire show, they were then transported on the back of a low loader up to harrogate with all stones still in place!

I want it to be as flat as possible as if I screw it in it will bow (unless I use dozens of screws 😕 ) so wanted to be able to make sure it doesn’t bow and think glue will be best but not sure of what glue, usually I would VHB tape it but then I would have to clean all the old glue off which would take ages.

I’ll have to try some glues but am going to need a big tin 😕

If the old glue isn’t two rippled, how about a sheet of formica using good old Evostick?
