Best way to apply Chequered Flag
Posted by Jamie Kimp on October 20, 2008 at 5:24 pmI have a customer who whats to have chequered flag graphics all over his Astra Estate. Covering the, Rear and the sides. Made from black vinyl squares.
What would be the best way to apply this?

I did this one a while back

Basically just made up a waving flag of squares and ‘wrapped’ them around…actually a bit more ‘wrapped’ on the other side.
The easy thing about using individual pieces is the ability to ‘fudge’ the curves a bit easier by ripping the application tape where required.

Yeh, that link – I think some back links will be a bit screwy until the .com is migrated over.

So would it be easier to cut the squares and apply each one separately or appli them and apply??

Make up the sheet – tape & then apply…any tricky bits you can always rip the tap and place. To do it manually…you’d be days!
You may notice that my squares aren’t square, but rather I made a chequer pattern & ‘transformed’ it in Signlab to a flag/wave.
