    Hi All

Well I think this is about the 5th time I have started a thread like this 😳 :lol1:

Here is the last thread showing my van
    https://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.p … hlight=van

I am getting a new car and want to wrap it in matt black (shown as grey on the picture so you can see the gloss black areas) I want to add a subtle design using the green, gloss black and chrome(shown as white)

On the back window I will have the Union Jack face picture to tie it in to the rest of my branding. I want to keep it off the sides because the matt laminate will not match up with the matt vinyl and might look naff, also think if the doors were gloss with picture and the rest of the car matt it will also look naff.

but as it’s my own car I am having trouble with the design as `I want something stylish, eye catching and subtle (not asking too much am I 🙄 )

    Suggestions welcome.

Anything goes so if you have a better idea feel free to throw it in the pot.

    Thanks in advance.

    cheers

    Warren

The green would have to be gloss unless somebody sell a matt bright green wrap vinyl 🙄

    quote Eamon Hughes:

Warren why not print and cover with a matt laminate?

2 main reason, first is I don’t have a printer so have to outsource and don’t want to outlay £100’s to find the end result is not that nice. secondly I want to use the matt black wrap vinyl as I get asked for it a lot and want to use it as a test and to get noticed. I haven’t seen matt laminate but don’t think it would look as good as plain vinyl.

Maybe in trying to keep it simple I am over thinking it so thought simplify even more.

    Matt black wrap
gloss black lettering with chrome shadow
    fluorescent green web address

    simples……

I may be thinking outside the box.
but if you already have a black car, would it not be possible just to apply matt laminate directly?

Anyone tried? or can give reasons why not?

Very nice Glen….I wouldn’t bother with the leaf at the back…don’t think it needs it 😀 😀

I like it glen but what about the gloss and matt together? not sure how it would look 😕 I am also not sure I can cut that size as I only have a 24" cutter.

I also would like it a bit subtler, I’ve done the big bright stripes and swooshes and want to keep it simplistic and contemporary with just a touch of gloss black, green and chrome.

Or anything goes if it is the right design 😉 :lol1:

I’m completely stumped at the moment, still leaning towards my last post as I think when it’s done it will look good, hard to visualise on screen but could work in real life.

I’ll try come up with something else for another bashing :lol1:

    cheers

Just an idea of a simple layout,

colours meant to be chrome and soft grey for name with gloss black outline but difficult to show on screen.

    top effort by Glenn btw.

Very nice martin, just the style I am looking for, hoped to have more gloss black as a feature but that is top marks.

laminating with a matt laminate might work as peter said, might be a bin thin and fiddly tho.

I have a vinyl black gloss van, not matt. Nothing wrong with gloss and it will work, then again you have the paint gloss anyway, so leave it alone i would

Just put some small gestures of mint signs on it, perfect.

Martin is spot on, that’s all you need to do.

with regards mixing matt black and gloss black… nah, doesn’t work for me especially in the dark

I like that martin…. don’t look to much, and as it is you re car I would think you wouldn’t want to much on it.

what I think would look nice with the matt wrap is to have the (MINT)standard reflective green and the (SIGNS) standard reflective black.
not the diamond reflective shite tho.
