  • Banner & Banner Frame

i saw a post recently for banner frame.. so i decided to post a job i did a couple of weeks ago.

basically the guy wanted a banner, but wanted an 8foot by 4 foot that he could take in and put out each day. he didn’t want to have to use ladders and also said it had to be easily attached.
he also pointed out the area it sits is a wind tunnel and anything it is fixed to must be substantial…
soo… what i did was to weld together some 2inch by 2 inch steel angle into the shape of a banner frame. i then printed the banners, hemmed & eyelets and gave him some short bungee fixings.

the first picture shows the frame once concreted into the ground.
it hasn’t been painted yet, but gets painted the same colour of purple as the banner.

second & third pictures show the front and rear of the banner with bungees in place…. there was two signs like this in total..

really nice job done there rob!! 😀

what programme do you use to create your layouts in? the photo’s look terrific 😛 the framing is a great idea!! i take it the guy did not need planning permission, as the banner is removed everyday?

    hi nik
the software was photoshop… whatever the latest one is.. cant remember now 😕
the customer just gave me all the details that MUST be included and wanted it kinda eyecatching… i think includig pictures is always best.. “speaks a million words and all that” 😀

there is two banners, both are situated next to a mass of bad signs, vandalised, warped foamex etc.. im sure we all know the type at the entrance of industrial estates..
anyway.. he didnt want his getting vandalised and also didnt want bother from the council like you said. so wanted to take them down each night to prevent hassle and also to stop them ending up like the others near them.

i choose the colours as it was one of the only colours not used in all the signs sitting near by. so with the bright purple painted frame and the banners as it is.. it helped stand out from the rest.

he liked them so much he asked for the same in 8 x 4 alluminium for his wall and 2 aboards all done in same design..
i wasnt a lover of the overall design but thought it did the job well, for what he was asking.
