Back safe and sound : )
Emily has just returned this morning from her trek in Morocco 😀 How pleased am I to see her back healthy and happy……… worry over!
Sad news is that she had our Sony digital camera stolen and has lost her photos 😥 Not bothered about the camera ……… hopefully the travel insurance will replace it.
But we have already got her friend to send us some of her photos, so I thought I’d post a couple.
There were 15 of them away, all 13 and 14 years olds.In the group photo Emily is the wee person right in the middle with the big floppy patterned hat with her sunglasses on her hat!
She’s also the one with the pigtails and blue Tshirt in the photo of the Todra Gorge ……… as you can see they climbed quite a height…… They were rising at 3am to begin trekking. Stopped at 10am through to 3pm avoiding the blistering heat (42 deg) then continuing again until 7pm.
Her feet are all blistered and she has broken skin on her shoulders with carry her rucksack.
But mostly she has great stories and memories to treasure! 😀Proud mum 😳

Emily on the left of this pic.
The view of the Base camp where they were dropped off – 8 hours south east of Marrakech. From here they moved on foot for 4 days before returning to ‘civilisation’ and a minibus to the Sahara where they trekked once again and slept in Berber tents on the sand dunes!

I’m jealous. All our school did at thirteen was a week in a cold damp Youth Hostel in the Peak District.

I remember a school trip. Bus to Larne and an hour to walk around Stranraer and spend our 10 quid Sterling! Set me up for life that one! 😮 😮
