I have been asked to supply printed baby on board style diamonds with window suckers for the back of cars. Also the same inquiry include printed mesh window blinds.

    Any ideas people.

You can get the suction pads from a company in Notts called Caranco Ltd.
As for the mesh blinds…I’d try mesh banner and take them to a local blind manufacturers to finish them for you. For the diamond shapes use 2mm pvc cut into squares with the corner rounded off. Jag supplies sell the die cutters for the radius edges.

Not sure about the blinds but the diamond you could try 1mm HIPS or pvc as Karl sugested. If you have the signmakers toolbar then you should easily find the suction cups in the point of sale section.

just a quick reply here mate but unless short run specialist branded items ide guess these should be screen printed and if they are they will out do you on price. not trying to be negative at all mate just fact as i see it. ide hate to see you waste time with a time waster that has no intention on paying the going "digital rate".

A lot of those baby on board and similar hanging diamond signs I have seen now seem to be made from very thick cardboard ( 2 – 3mm ), then die cut to shape.

I assume these are being mass produced somewhere, so I agree with Rob that you may find you either cant compete on price, or end up making nothing on them.

The ones I have seen arent exactly great quality, but probably cost pence to buy in bulk.

Have a look at suppliers through TradeOnly who have many suppliers who specialise in shorter run merchandising style orders.

    Thanks

This has given me something to think about.

I was wondering if I could print with my edge. I was sent a sample of a thin plastic (not sure what it is) which I could cut with a knife just for a sample.

I’m thinking that if that is acceptable and I get the job I would have to have them screen printed and die cut

Just be careful with the product you produce in-house, because if the one you out source is not as good, or different to your sample, you may set your customers expectations wrongly.

Would work out expensive on the edge mate if it’s a large run. Why not ask someone local to print and decal cut on their inkjet machine? Cheaper than the Edge and no massive set up fees.

The baby on board diamonds are available from Subli Supplies, they are intended for sublimation, but you could do them with vinyl.
