We had a wicked wind yesterday gusting to 100 kph. It stripped of most of the leaves from the trees. Today we spend about 4 hours raking and bagging. The doggies helped of course…
For the last couple of autumns here in Cardiff the leaves have fallen off the trees almost overnight with a bit of a thump. One day there, next day gone. This year, thankfully, they seem to be hanging on to give us a bit of a show. At 39 years of age I’m still amazed how something that started off green can then go red, brown or yellow!
Your colors appear not to be as vivid as the ones in PA. We reached our peak about a week ago, now the leaves are brownish and ugly.
But the cornstalks in the fields are a glorious pale yellow.
Especially when sandwiched between green fields of winter wheat.
We are supposed to get snow this evening.
Last night there was a thunderstorm!
I can’t wait for the clocks to go back this weekend, I am sick of waking up naturally an hour before I have to.
Love…..Jill
