    I have just had an enquiry regarding the fitting of some touring car size graphics and its put me in a bit of an awkward position
    let me explain
    The car in question is a black audi quatro 4 dr and the graphics are of the audi logo ie interlocked rings about 2ft in diameter which have to be applied diagonally acros the rear quarter over various compound curves , also there is a a screen strip
    carrying the logo
    It looked to me like a two man job to position these graphics and a warm workshop in which to do it which i dont have so i suggested a friends sign company .I gave him a call to explain the job and after a 10ml trip to see him he has since decided not to fit car graphics any more and so mr audi has returned to me for further recomendatIions

    So is there anyone in Essex or nearby that has fitted similar kits that would be interested in doing this

    I dont want to leave this customer in the lurch
    if I cant find anyone to take it on then ive told him that I will do it if he gives me a hand
    the kit ,which cost him over £300 and a long journey cause he couldnt get local is produced in an oracal vinyl not sure which one
    can anyone give me some advice with this fit

    Any takers or any advice -its all welcomed!

    thanks

    £300 for some car graphics is a joke..
    he must be desperate mate…

    well, my advice would be to do it. if its oracal 751 it should cope no problems.. the workshop doesnt have to warm for it but you will need a heat gun and to take your time.. just heat the panel / area of the vehicle that your working on a few minutes before you apply the image.. just enough heat to warm the metal to hold some heat, but dont apply it till it cools down a bit… or it will stick fast. other than that you should be fine.

    one other thing try kkepping the vinyls in your car or in a warm room up until you are about to apply. people forget this somtimes and the vinyl goes brittle before it touchies the vehicle!

    So if i follow your fitting tips as your posted chevrons / tailgate job it should be fine .ok Rob ill do it
    Funny why i feel more confident with a brush etc than a squeege- at least if it goes wrong i can always wipe it out

    Time to be brave !
    Cheers Rob
