  • Attaching a Composite Panel to a Slate Wall

What type of fixings and how many would you suggest to attach a 10` x 5` ACM panel horizontally high up on a slate wall?

I was thinking standoffs to accommodate the uneven surface of the wall.
Trays and frames have been discounted due to cost. They just want a large black panel on the wall with their logo on it on the end of the building, while they have better signage at the front.

    cheers Stuart

Slate can crumble pretty easily so I would probably be looking at chemical fastenings rather than mechanical, putting it on stand offs will help with the uneven surface but will allow the wind to get behind it. You could easily make your own stand off’s with a bit of tube cut to different lengths depending on how uneven the wall is.

can you go right through the slate to whatever is behind? Would be the best way if it’s possible.

thanks for the advice, I hadn’t thought of chemical fixings.
What sort and from where do people use?
