• Asda Subli Service

Posted by Paul Humble on December 2, 2008 at 5:47 pm

I had a customer in today who had bought a subli mug from Asda and wasnt happy with the service. They requested wording but were told this couldnt be done, the image was blurred badly and pastey, and the image was positioned so that it wasnt in the centre, but wasnt fully to one side either. Basically it looked a total mess, I agreed to add wording to the mug but explained that I wasnt responsible if something went wrong.

Anyway, the mug image has faded quite badly after being repressed so the customer has just ordered a new one from me. Id love to know what systems the Supermarkets etc are using because it was possibly the worst subli mug ive seen.

You’ll probably find Paul the people doing them are on crap money and not trained either. I know this cos I bought my last pair of glasses from them. Can’t see bugger all now. 😎

It’s true though Paul. The big stores think they can muscle in on all trades. But the fact is if the staff were qualified they’d be working in our industry earning more. Not for just above minimum wage in a crappy supermarket. One day they’re doing mugs, the next stacking biscuits then when they’re done it’s a stock take on the smart price tampons. 😀 😕

I think these are bought in? Hence the long lead times……who ever is producing them must be doing it for next to nothing.

More fool them. But then again Asda don’t pay much for anything.
look at the George clothing, some poor Chinese guy must make 200 pairs of underpants for a bowl of rice a week.

All the big retailers are the same. I had a conversation with a buyer from DSG (Curry’s, PC world etc) and one thing that stuck in my mind, the posh plamsa/LCD tv glass stands they sell for £70-£150 ish they buy in for 70p delivered to the UK!!!

Ill ask the customer if she minds me posting a pic of the mug on here. I dont think she will mind and im pretty sure a few people will be surprised just how bad it really is.
