• Art Canvas update

Posted by Martin Oxenham on February 18, 2007 at 11:07 pm

Further to my previous post last week on this subject and just in case anyone else is interested in this, I have just tried two further products one is from Metamark and the other from Grafitype and both print brilliant.
I previously tried B&P and Europoint but both were the same material and printed dull and faded looking but the other two are like proper art canvas and just printed with a standard vinyl profile they print perfect.
The Metamark one is slightly heavier and therefore the dearest at around £7 per metre X 760. But the one from Grafityp is less than £5 per metre
X 760. The first two are not really the same thing and Metamark sell this same stuff as a backdrop material for shop displays.

thanks for the info Martin, I tried the graphytip sample, (Thanks Nigel)
but only had mediocre results, perhaps it was down to my inexperience, and lack of a suggested profile. anyway today printed on ip brushstroke canvass from spandex, and it gave very good results, but only after a bit of experimenting. I think it is also down to the image you are printing, it seems it does need to be adjusted to be over saturated to give the desired result
