I’ve been told by 3M that it’s not legal for chapter 8, & you’re not supposed to have white reflective on the rear of the vehicle or red at the front.

While I’ve never wrapped a whole vehicle in the 3M 780MC reflective wrap I have here, I have used loads of printed reflective designs on my own vehicles. I try not to have white at the rear or red on the front, though when I’ve had red/orange (kind of my logo!) on the front, it’s not looked confusing when approaching it at night.
I can’t see it being illegal.

It would be an MoT failure to have white reflective on the rear and/or red on the front, would have to be a fairly keen tester to spot it sometimes though

I would guess yes, the film is road legal to wrap a vehicle in as it is more a glow than an intense reflective, but it would also be down to you or your designer to create a design and colour use that is suitable at the front and rear not to fall into an area of illegality as has been said, red at rear is fine, but white is not. vice versa on the front.
I guess it is a bit like a knife. you can buy it and use it as you feel fit. but the minute you stick it into someone, it becomes illegal. 😆
you know the basic legality line of reflective, just do not cross it! :smiles:
