After reading about tape dispensers on another thread, I thought I would post a pic of the one I made. Went down the scrap yard and found a set of rollers, made two angle brackets and bolted either side. This then can be bolted to the bench or can be used clamped wherever you need.

    Hope this helps

good idea that, though i wouldn’t be able to use it on my glass tops!!!

here’s my contraption, soon to be junked in favour of one that allows me to quickly change roll sizes. cost about £9 from focus for the bits.

That looks good Chris… Looking for something compact like that for 1220 rolls…. Wouldn’t you just pull the roll off the rollers tho.? If anyone knows of something like this on the market would you let me know.?

Blimey that was a while ago I made that. Brought one later on with a flange and now sits on the bench but have to speed clamp it on.

Have to say one of the best tools I ever had, simple but effective

Bought one a few months a go from MDP, Cheryl the roll can’t pull off the rollers because it is fed under the front roller as in picture.

You have to say this with an Indian accent:-

Indian goes into the corner shop and says " I’m looking for some toilet roll"
Store keeper says" I’ve two types , Kleenex velvet £2 per roll or unbranded for 10p"
Indian says" I’ll take the unbranded"

Next day the Indian returns and tell the storekeeper " I’ve got a name for your unbranded toilet paper"

I’m gonna call it John Wayne toilet paper,
    Because it’s rough, & it’s tough , n it takes No $h1t from Indian. "
    😀

steve is correct Cheryl, it does work well and for the money it does the job very well. I bought ours some years back from Hexis but as he says, various places do them "or similar". definitely does pull the roll of the rollers but "i did" put two screws into the base to make sure our lads didnt pull the rollers over. very seldom happens but you do get the odd rogue roll of app tape that wont unravel easily.

phill, thats one sketchy looking roll of toilet paper mate. :lol1:

i also have the MDP type, but with full rolls i have to feed the app tape under the front roller or the rolls jump off,i cant screw the roller down because im using it on a glass top bench, havin said this it works great and at the price is great value

some VHB tape or maybe even some decent foam stick pads will do the trick which you should be able to get at B&Q.

I just made one out of some left over plywood from a job, started out as just an application tape dispenser which held 2 rolls upto about a metre wide & just clamped to the end of the bench but it then sort of grew a few extra bits so now also holds all sorts of things that I like to keep close when working at the bench.
