  • Application fluid & adding IPA for winter conditions

Hi all, my application fluid goes as this water and a splash of simple washing liquid.

In the winter months i need all the help i can get and as previously mentioned have been using rapid tac which doesnt freeze, helps the vinyl adhere and smells great. I can no longer get this overpriced simple product and have found many a formula on the web mostly consisting of 1/3 IPA 2/3 WATER and a splash of washing liquid. Now i know the IPA stops the water from freezing but is there any worry of it eating away at the adhesive and making it weaker?

    Hi Martyn

Your formula is as old as the hills and won’t react with your adhesive

A tiny drop of rubbish brand washing up liquid changes the surface tension of the water and a small drop of solvent helps the water to flash off, back in the day it used to be methylated spirit but ipa will do the job. Just follow the recommendation for the vinyls application and storage.
