  • Apple Macs and Craft Robos- Compatability?

Posted by Jonty on January 24, 2006 at 3:23 am

As im new to this I thought Id ask the experts.

Ive been buying cut vinyl etc from local signmakers, but i feel it would be a great move if I bought a Craft Robo for small jobs because its seems like a versatile machine.

I have a few questions that I would like some info on to aid my decision.
Can it be run from an Apple mac Os 10.4?
Can i print onto injet vinyl and cut with this machine- for full colour stickers?
Can I also cut business cards with it (die cutting costs a fortune for small run promotional cards)

Are there and plotters/printers/brands that do not support Apple Macs? (for future reference)

    Cheers for any help

I think I am right in saying that the vast majority of plotters work on HPGL language and don’t really care whether the signal comes from a PC or a Mac.

A bigger problem is cabling (USB to serial etc etc) but you can usally find a way round it.

    We’ve never had a problem.
