I tried it but didn’t like the guessing bits in it, I use Clarity Professional absolutely brilliant, but not cheap.

I have both on my system. I prefer Estimate for pricing of signs as it is a signmakers package, where with Clarity I think it is more geared to a general purpose for many industries, especially for off the shelf stock items.
Dave, interesting to hear that a signmaker likes Clarity for how we price signs. I use it for our supply side for stock items where there is little or no production required.

Don’t you sell estimate as part of your Graphic sign supplies business Rising?

I use Estimate bought it in 2001 “met” Mark Smith through another sign related site, I think its a great little package, a big help….the only drawback for me is that I can’t change the language in the quote section, so that I can in my case have everything automatically print in Swedish, but they are working on that in Version 2.0 I believe.

They have a couple of good free utilities on their site a thing called profitwatch for helping develop a realistic hourly rate and a job timer.

Mark smith is an old signmaker so he knows how the sign business works.

They have a 14 day trial version through their site http://www.estimatesoftware.com

I Recently Bought ‘EstiMate’ Quotation Software So I Could Give
Quicker Quotes.. It’s Amazing How Much Time I Lost Fiddling Through
Suppliers Price Books (Thats if I Could Remember Where I’d Put Them!)
So I Started Searching The Net for a Soloution. I Tried Out- Sign Shop Manager, Clarity Plus loads More, One Which I Cannot Remember The
Name of Just Now (From The States. I Think It’s What FastSigns Use)
In About Half a Hour of Down Loading a Trial Copy They Were on The
Phone Mithering Me from The States, There Software Was’nt Cheap Either.
So After Trialing Out 4 or 5 Types It Was ‘EstiMate’ Which I Thought
was The Best All Rounder. I Find it Very Simple to Use Just Enter My
EveryDay Materials in or Just Add When Needed. The Give It Info Like
Sizes, Quantity and Other Simple Stuff Then Click..Click..Type in Customers Details Then Print Off a Copy and Fax It Off or E-mail
from it Direct (When I Get it Networked in!) I Find it Great for Instant
Telephone Quotes (Pending The Enquiry Of Course, It Does’nt Do Everything)
Just Be Sure to Read Up on What You Get Before Purchasing It and Be
Aware That After Buying The Base Software That You Need to Purchase
‘Plugins’ Pending on What You Use or Do. I Soon Worked Out Approx
How Much The Full Package Would Cost Me and Purchse it Over Here from Graphic Sign Supplies. Some People May Think It’s A Bit Pricey But
Believe Me I Thought Some of The Other Quoting Software Were Well Over
    Priced and Rubbish.
Ps- I Changed The Last Word So Not to Affend! :lol1:

I got the demo and found it really usefull. I tested it in front of clients and it just about stopped all the attempts to bargain the prices.. And it was way easier to keep track of jobs..

Its great. Get it you won’t go wrong..
