Anyone give me tips on aligning vinyl??
I find myself constantly:
1. placing the vinyl using the application tape on the vehicle
2. getting the tape measure out and measuring that I’m 9mm out at one end
3. I re-lift the vinyl and repeat 1 & 2 then find out I’m still out.
4. Vinyl sticks to the vehicle when re-lifting the application tape when I don’t want it to.
5. End up getting annoyed, rip the vinyl up and torch the vehicle. (hot) (:)Please help

right, take the graphic, put it up against the vehicle, stick a small bit of masking tape at each side, just to hold it in place while you get your tape measure out, get your graphic level, tack it back again with the masking tape, now put a strip of masking tape across the top of your graphic
the same lengh, what you need to do now is hinge it up & peel of the backing paper, now with your fingers at each end lay it down against the vehicle, take your squeege & rub it down working from the center out
to the top & bottom, peel of the app tape & go & make a cup of tea

As I said in your other post Gavin, Eddie explains it quite well, but I would take a day off work travel down to Fife and we can give you some pointers, you will learn far more than you will reading posts.

Yep, I’ll definitely take you up on that offer martin, just need to get some time off – I’ve just started back at college – so I’ll see when I can make some time away from there!
