    Hi all,

trying to print an image 1.2m x 2.95m starts printing ok, then after approx 1.5m the printing stops- media keeps going to the correct end and then puts the crop marks in the correct place.
Any ideas as to where my missing print is ?

this used to happen a lot in the early days of colourrip and was a memory problem and mainly the size of the eps file input a smaller file and alow the rip to blow it up at no more than 360×720 the number of passes does not increase the finished file size.
make sure your hard disk is tidyand plenty of spare space.

    Hi Chris,

What I dont understand is this morning I printed a much larger file (397mb) succesfully- output size approx 1300 x 950.

The file i am trying to print now is 158mb but the output is 1600 x 3000 approx.

    Does that make sense ?

Your memory size is referring to the input file. The RIP may create a temp file 20 times this size. As the size of the image that’s going wrong is 2.5 times the one that worked, this may be the problem. Have you got enough disk and memory in your machine? Also make sure you have deleted any old files from the queues as they will be hogging disk space.

I have this problem every now and then, what i do is clear space on my HD, then re-rip it, then it normally works ok.

I think it is def a memory prob where the machine doesn’t have enough memory to rip properly.
