    Hey guys,

we’re thinking of starting new part of our business and that’s printing on wallpapers. We have Mimaki JV33 and need some advice on paper, paper suppliers, and profiles if possible.
How do you normally cut your wall paper after printing as you can’t print edge to edge. Do you just run it through cutter with optical eye or do you cut it by hand? Thanks for your time.

We’re just doing this for an exhibition stand in Cologne at the moment. We’ve got a professional decorator putting the wallpaper up and he is adamant that the only way to do this is to put the wallpaper up, overlap the design and then run a scalpel down with a straight edge to get a perfect join. I don’t think you’d be able to pre-trim it without a automated trimmer that is VERY accurate.

We bought our wallpaper from Hexis (01453 411221) it’s very good quality – would use it again.

Just don’t tell the wife or you’ll end up doing the lounge too.

    Mike.

    Hi,

We do the same as the above poster, overlap then scalpel and straight edge to get a perfect join.

I get mine from Amari plastics in Bedford.
