    Hi all

As some of you know I will be cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End in early September.

Now, one of the hardest bit of the whole thing at the moment is getting to JOG.

Getting to Inverness is not a problem as I can fly there with my bike but I cannot fly to Wick with my bike.

So I thought I would just hire a car and leave it at Wick.

I cannot find a hire firm who will let me leave a car at Wick.

Any ideas from people with local knowlage would be great.

    Cheers

The trains do go up to Wick however there is very limited bike space (2 per train) so you have to pre book a tick for you and a bike for a specific train and if you miss it you are stuffed.

May take the ferry to orkney and then to scrabster

    it’s a puzzle

    Hi Paul

Couldn’t you get in touch with the train company and explain that you are doing a cycle ride for charity and see if they would bend the rules for you.

Or find out what local radio stations are around, get in contact and explain what you are doing. Get an appeal out and see if there is a kind hearted person that would give you & the bike a lift……….you never know.

    What date are you starting.

    Regards
    Lee

The problem I have had all the way along is that these companies get asked for help with charity rides/event countless times a year.

but I like the idea of contacting the local radio station.

I will hopfully be starting the ride on the 3rd of September so I want to get to JOG on the 2nd
