    Hi folks
I’ve been talking to a customer about stone/granite like engraved panels. Corian is the only material I know of and as far as I know is pretty expensive *if* you can find a supplier in the first place. I’ve found a good few discussions on Corian on the boards, but most are a good few years old, so perhaps things have changed since then.

I just wonder if there are any alternatives to Corian. The intended use will be exterior (in this case) so colour fastness is important.

    Anybody know of an alternative?

    Cheers,
    Neil

routers like a dream, finish is excellent… tons of colours and effects…
expensive yes, but unless the customer is willing to pay for what "they want" then dont waste your time with them mate. if they cannot afford to pay a premium for a top end material, then they must buy what they can afford.

Morning folks and thanks for the replies.

Ian: many thanks for the offer but at present I’m really just trying to locate a supplier and to find out if there are comparable brands of similar material out there.

Robert: Yes, I hear it works well. We haven’t even discussed pricing yet and I don’t expect there to be any great problem there. As I mentioned above I’m still at the product research stage and will need to get back to them once I have spoken to suppliers. At this point in time I don’t yet know if there are any comparable brands to consider so I’m still looking.

Dave: thanks for the pointer – that’s my next task, to speak to them.
