  • Any idea why my prints are coming out the wrong colour ?

    Good afternoon.

We are having a few issues that i’ve tried to solve, but unfortunately with no success so far !!

We recently purchased a new main PC for the studio. I have loaded on the Roland Colorip software and as far as I can see have set all the settings exactly the same as the old PC. The only difference I think I can see is that the new PC runs Windows 7 and the old one runs Windows XP BUT …. the new Windows 7 PC is running in Windows XP mode when running this program.

The problem we have is the colours on the prints when sending them from the new PC are very different and much darker. It seems to print a very light creamy colour too where white is present !!

Any ideas where to start looking ??

Below is a print from exactly the same file from the two computers : (the closer one is the older computer).

is the Colour transforms – Configuration pages set the same.

i am guessing its the same profile

job to tell on different screens but the first one in the pic is as i would expect mine to print from colourrip.

Don’t use colour RIP but when i had issues with Versaworks last week after switching computers last week, it was the Colour intent was defaulted to a different setting.

Check if the new PC is set to print RGB or CYMK that can make a difference.

Hi Chris, yes the configuration page is set exactly the same. Really am stumped.

Hi Mike ….. when you say is the computer set to RGB or CMYK, Do you mean in the Roland software ?

When you export your file from your program, I use Corel, you have the option to export as either RGB or CMYK. I had a similar problem on a job when my settings went t!t$ up!
