  • An alternative to banner tape?

Posted by Reza Faezi on July 22, 2013 at 4:07 pm

Hi, were looking for an alternative solution to banner tape. It is quick, easy and quite cheap but we are fed up of the rippling when the banners are rolled up (loosely) and dont know if it is with the heat but the tape doesnt seem as strong as normal ( i thought it would have been even stickier with the heat? I have seen the Leister banner welder but dont know if it can be used for hemming or its just for joining banners. Also a couple of years ago i seen something at Sign UK (im sure it cost around £10,000) but it would fold, hem and even eyelet them.

There’s a single sided tape you apply around the edge of the banner, no folding, just stick around edge and then eyelet. Speak to admiral tapes.

If it’s the same as the one I have used in the past (‘Hemless’ banner tape, I think) then it fails within a few months, goes brittle and falls off between the eyelets. This one was clear, with threads running through it.

    Hi Lorraine

No it’s different, it’s more like a thick PVC vinyl tape, haven’t used it but got a small test outside the unit so will keep checking it and update in a few months.
