    Hi all

Its a while since we made a sign using aluminium trim and hanging panels but we have a job to do using this method

Back in the day we used to use Eurotrim with perspex panels on hanging strips and when it was necessary to load from the front we would put springs in the two side pieces to force the panels together

The sign we are doing now is 9m long x 900mm high and will need to be 3 panels, loaded from the front but in aluminium composite – our supplier stocks Nova Trim but I’m drawing a bit of a blank as to whether the springs are necessary or even exist for their 204 Composite profile

Can anyone shed any light on that for me or point me in the direction of other profiles that will take a composite panel?

Composite panels will fairly rattle about in the trim will they not Glenn? Without packing them out with somethimg!
Are those trims not designed for 5 mm thick sheet?

    Folded box not an option?

    Hi Fred,

The NovaTrim Composite 204 is specifically for a 3mm panel so I’m hoping its up to the job

The customer was offered the folded box option (which was slightly more expensive) but favoured the trim

Very interested to see how the front loading works with springs holding them in! It’s an issue I’ve come across a few times so curious to see how it works

If you could post photos that would be great

    Regards

    Alex

Sorry Alex – I’ve managed to convince the customer to go with a tray on this occasion as I started to have real doubts that the trim without springs was the correct way to go

No worries! I think I’d have done the same
