were going to be replacing this old sign in the next week or so and as you can see from the pic the corrugated siding is a u shape. the old sign was put up with some old wood which i guess was first screwed in and then the sign put over it. as you can see one of the planks has fallen.
any suggestions as to the best way to fit it. if it were straight metal siding then no problems but never come across the u shaped siding before.

    very simple one mate…

create a panatrim style frame in-house with composite board panel.
the whole thing can be constructed in-house ready for fitting.

arrive on site, using tech screws (without washers) fasten the frame to the building every where the cladding comes up flush with the frame.

the tech screw will self tap into the building through the trim in a couple of seconds.

tools/equipment:- Cordless drill, tech bit, tech screws with open thread for soft metal. fitting time 5 minutes.

once frames in place, slide in composite panel and tech/rivet on the end piece. job done… fitting literally minutes mate…

ive done lots of this sorta thing all over the UK, but a 8x4ft and 10x5ft…. i normally do these ones traveling through the night working in the dark because they are quick and easy. so i make my way depot to depot before sun up… 😀

just make sure your tech screws are open threaded for soft metal.

Old demo on building the frame here.
