  • Advice please- tips for doing 2 colours of vinyl for t-shirt

    Hi all,
I have a customer who was asking about doing 2 different colours of text on a t-shirt, literally his name and business name, now as i’ve never done t-shirt vinyl i was wondering how you can apply both colours without it looking wrong.
Can you cut the one colour vinyl then do the layering method mentioned on the video on here or not?
I know you need a different sort of vinyl and have ordered some respectively, just wondered if there was an easier way to do it, than doing both colours individually.
    Many thanks

    Hi Nigel,

if you have two colours, say a black text with red outline, the do the red first – as a solid layer, then place the black on top,

the garment vinyls I use can be layered easily, just make sure to get the right ones, I mainly use Grafityp PS vinyl, does poly / cotton / canvas etc. you need different for very strytchy stuff and nylon etc.

    cheers,
    Hugh

ps, speak to your supplier, they should be able to help.

Just to add the PS range has a adhesive coating so it will stick to the garment prior to pressing, an advantage when you need to lay several pieces down.
