    Hi

not sure if this has been mentioned before, so sorry if it has!

We seem to be getting more and more problems sending items such as modular post and panel signs, trays and flat panels over night using everything from 6 layers of thick bubble and cardboard corners to polystrene sheets but still get this problem on what seems a daily basis :banghead:

just wondering if you lot had any magical tricks?

    all the best

    John

Have you tried Bubble wrap then create a series of folds in correx creating a rigid box all around it?
5mm correx or thicker is best. not expensive for sheets of it and a damn site cheaper than a damaged sign being returned. 😀

To be honest, you are doing all we do for sending out the same things. We just try to send everything door to door now where we can on a bespoke carrier. Costs more but at least the customer gets his goods in good order and so prevents problems with pre planned install dates etc.

It may be worth asking your sheeting suppliers for any "deck sheets" they may have available. These are generally cheap, rigid foam boards used to protect the tops of the sheeting pallets when they are shipped. We have found these are great to sandwich around trays and boards to keep them safe. But you would still need to do everything you explained above too…. Couriers can be a nightmare

thanks for the replys guys! fingers crossed will give some of those ideas a try, we send things on a dedicated courier too but you know how it is on some jobs people won’t pay the cost

Correx is the way to go as Rob said, often the time taken to wrap like this is nearly as much as making the sign in the first place, so make sure you are charging enough to cover it.

We always used to get our tray signs and plate and post stuff from ashby as they packed really safely. We just unpacked carefully keeping all the bits and then reused when sending the goods out.

Would agree with corex and bubble wrap for custom items but it is time consumimg.
