• Advice on Gerber Edge

Posted by David.Anderson on August 21, 2013 at 10:00 pm

I have a Gerber Edge that has no power. I changed all of the 3 fuses (2 at the on off switch and one internal)

Obviously checked the plug fuse 😉

I got a quote to repair it that was a BIG bit expensive as the main power unit was the apparent cause.

It was given to me and think it’s a shame to bin it, although I know it’s now almost consigned to the history books.

Could any electrician fix this cheaper?

Are we allowed to post contact details on here of people who fix these things? I know someone who will know about this

I don’t think so Paul. I had a quote of £750!! Recently saw the edge and 380 plotter sell for just over £500. Looks like it’s going to go spares or repairs?

Yep, the Spandex parts are sky high prices but you can get some of them yourself – there are some engineers around who have some of these spares.

We were recently quoted £1000 for a repacement board for our 380 gerber plotter, but you can pick them up second hand for around that price.
