    hi all

we are making some new signs as we are moving into new premises shortly. they will be bigger, better, and for an extra wow i would like to put a photo image onto them and would like advice, as we do not have the capability to print.
i know it might sound easier to ring up a firm who has a printer and ask them – but I’d rather have some guidance first so i can choose the right supplier.

firstly – are most suppliers a similar price and quality?
i have briefly looked at places such as doubleimage
secondly – i have some very large professionally shot photos, what format would the printers want the images presenting- as i will need to do a little work on them, ie cropping and fading etc to plan the sign and leave space for the text.
they are at the moment jpeg, 6/8mb.
i haven’t decided exactly on the sizes yet – but it is probably going to be something like 1@5’x3′, and two @2’x2′.
the signs would be exterior and mounted on di-bond equivalent.

also i know no-one likes to publish prices – but if i had a rough guide price it would save me making a number of repetitive phone calls – wasting other peoples time just to get an idea of average prices

if anyone has any supplier recommendations that would also be helpful.

    thanks

Not all suppliers are the same quality and price,
Jpg are fine for print (I presume that is tha native format)The file sizes will be fine for your intended use
I’m not sure if your membership allows use of the quotes wanted forum.
but it is a good place to start as many uksb members would be happy to give you a quotation.

thanks peter – unfortunately my membership doesn’t allow me to enter the quotes area.

The money you spend will be saved in the price and the assurance of dealing with a fellow UKSB member. 😉
