  • Advice needed on sourcing a Strong coloured sheet material?

    Hi All.

I’ve been involved (in only a very minimal capacity) with helping to complete a project and need some advice on materials.

The project is an American pickup truck that has been lowered and then had all of that hydraulic ‘jumping’ suspension put in. So each individual ‘wheel station’ can be raised/lowered or the car can jump aroung (like those ‘gangsta’ things you see in American pop videos). It has just recently won some erm… car show thingie and is being used in a music video in the near future. I don’t get it myself, but it keeps them off the streets. Or maybe not if it’s a car.

Anyway, the battery pack that is used to power the hydraulics have all been painted to match the colour of the pickup. At the moment, all he has to protect them, when not showing the vehicle, is some cheap wood.

I was wondering if anyone knows of suppliers I can contact to get prices on some sort of coloured perspex sheeting that we can cut and bond as a more aesthetic looking cover than plywood? The guy who owns it was also thinking about possibly letting some girls sit on it during the video shoot, so it would have to be fairly sturdy (that is not a bad taste reference to the girls) or possibly get some matching cylinders that could be used as supports.

    Any ideas at all?
