hi folks ive been asked to produce QR codes in vinyl to be put onto vans so that customers can scan them with the i phones and be directed to the customers websites. ive never been asked to do these before and im just wondering if it would work >im not sure how the technology works but i suspect just a bit of vinyl out of place and it wont scan .Any help appreciated

    Regards Brian

There are several places on the net to find these…..some in eps so you could cut them.

You simply put the website address in and it generates one for you.
There are two types…..when you scan. one form takes you direct to the website and the other puts the name, address, Telephone number and website into your contacts.

as long as the QR cod has been saved as a good resolution image, you wont have any trouble printing and using to any scale. I believe when a QR code is generated, it gives options to the size that is needed.

The site I posted gives you the option of what format to save it in…..
PDF EPS JPEG etc. so you can get a vector version.

I use http://www.onlineqrlab.com/ up the size to 500 and paste straight into Corel – trace it and you are away. Its worth using a url reducer like bitly.com and making a code from that as that can be simpler to cut and weed. A QR code can be sent anywhere and doesn’t even have to a website it can be just text. Some QR readers on phones can be a bit fussy so test codes first before committing to a long run, I know some Win8 phones had apps that didn’t read all codes but I’ve not had a problem from the site above.
If you have a web hosting package that uses CPanel look at the softaculys folder and there is a free online QR code generator and you can add it to your website.

Why bother tracing ! Like I said if you use the site I suggested you can save a vector version !
