    Hi,

Its been a long time since i last posted on the forum, when i last posted i had just bought a Junior Plus plotter 610mm. I used it a bit when i got it but i never really pushed for work the way i had intended, this was mainly due to running my other business in the Engineering sector. In the last lot of months i have steadily seen a decrease in my normal work due to imports etc from the far east. So i have decided to try and push and get into sign/vinyl lettering business on a more solid footing, the reason for this post is what advice would you guys give to someone just starting out in the business?? I was planning on doing small signs, lettering and boy racer, skater boy type stickers. Is this the correct approach? or should i be aiming at other markets aswell. Im currently using Graphix Advantage cutting software plus i have a few discs with the logos, boy racer type logos aswell.

I would like to get enough work for myself to do at least 2 days per week to begin with and then steadily aim for a solid 5 days a week business.

    current equipment

    Junior Plus plotter 610mm
    graphix advantage cutting software
    epson 1290 printer

Is there any other equipment or tools you would recommend that i should purchase??

All help will be greatly appreciated.

    PS

I used to speak with Phil who owns right signs on AOL, hope hes keeping busy and heathly. Nice guy who was always willing to offer advice and help.

Well done to ROB on a brilliant forum, it has grown so much this last year its amazing.

    Regards

Hi (I don’t know your name)

If you just want to fill a couple of days to start I would just get on with the equipment you already own.

You will find you will grow into areas you could not have foreseen so buy new equipment as it is needed.

Could you sell to your existing clients (signs, vehicle graphics, workwear etc)
