Yell.com is very popular now. It’s in peoples offices, I don’t use the phone book now, too complicated to turn pages.
I thought the yell.com adverts were okay, the Hyperlink to your website is expensive but very handy. There is activity from it. I know another company who does pumping, the Yell.com link has been good business for them.

the question is do you use it to find what you want.
it may answer it its self

and no i dont use it nor advertise in it

I have only a standard free listing on Yell.com and I have had enquiries from it. Having said that, there are only 5 signmakers that come up in my town so being at the top of the list isn’t as much of an advantage as it might be elsewhere. 55 squids a month sounds expensive, argue them down a bit.

I’m on yell and tbh get very few enquiries through it.

We have the enhanced listing with yell.com, paid for itself in the first job, don’t think it costs us as much as £55 a month tho!
We have had this for about 4 years now, the only trouble is, that as more and more companies take up the enhanced list, it all blends into one! Good if you the only company with it, as you always stay at the top!

Ive had it for 2 years and have now decided to get rid of it as it just wasnt generating very much work for me.

A couple of years ago i spent nearly £650 on a yellow pages ad. The rep also gave me a yell.com listing with it.
unfortunately i had just 1 enquiry from the back of both in a year and consequently dont use either now!
my trade now comes from word of mouth (majority), return customers and my website (i use google ad words which work a treat)

yeah ive been really impressed so far,
i pay about 20 quid a month and get atleast 2 or 3 leads a week. its not a huge amount but it will pay for itself in no time
obviously, you can set your level, so you could have it set at £5 or a grand. in fact, i think they are doing £25 quids worth free at the moment, so it may be worth giving it a try
(oh dear, i sound like i should be earning commission!!!)

I have used yell.com and adwords, neither were of any use 🙁
The yellow pages are good for me though.
This is for the sports shop side of business though.
