    Active transformation

Corporate ID specialist Active has completed the manufacture and installation of a full external signage package on behalf of John Lewis Partnership at Manchester’s imposing Trafford Centre.

The project, which had a four-week window stipulated by the main contractor Bovis Lendlease, included signage for a total-area mezzanine floor. Stainless steel and aluminium were used extensively throughout the various signage elements which in some cases required the use of a selection of high-reach access platforms and hoists to complete the installation. For the entrance to the main mall situated on the east wing of the Trafford Centre, Active supplied halo-illuminated ID lettering to a height of 1, 500mm. This was supplemented by three sets of two metre-high builtup face-illuminated aluminium lettering, powder-coated white and fitted to a stone architectural feature of the building. There were also three sets of 800mm-high built-up and faceilluminated satin stainless steel letters.

Main external ID signage comprised four sets of seven metre x 1, 200 x 400mm wedge-shaped double-sided projecting signs, manufactured with an aluminium-clad body and incorporating individual face-illuminated letters to each side of the construction.

One of the UK’s leading corporate signage manufacturer’s signs a new soccer sponsorship deal
Ramsgate, gateway to Britain and the base for the Kent based corporate signage manufacturer Active Signs.

The football supporting firm have recently signed a three-year sponsorship deal with local team Margate FC. Their investment includes not only a shirt sponsorship package for the Ryman Division 1 first team but also 18 other youth sides throughout the county. We say that credit should be given to the company for promoting their local sides rather than tying themselves to a higher profile team elsewere. Active’s passion for the ‘beautiful game’ has been extensive. Since 1987, the companies own in-house team has enjoyed considerable success having consecutively won either the Regional Premiership Division or a cup competition in every subsequent year (in some years achieving the double). On two occasions, the team has won the coveted and fiercely contested Kent Cup.

Active’s Managing Director Mitchel Taylor commented:’ Active Signs has been built on the commitment and assistance of my staff, 95% of whom live locally. I felt it was time to put some investment back into the local community, and I’m pleased to say that investment has resulted in Margate FC being able to return to its original Hartsdown Road ground’
