    Hi all,

The subject line may make this sound more complicated than it is. We have been asked to print some banners that will be a backdrop on a music stage, however the sub bass speakers will be behind the banner.

Has anyone any experience of this? My gut feeling is to use mesh to be on the safe side however the radio station have said they have had a normal scrim banner before with no issues. Just after a second opinion if anyone has experience in this?

I’m sure I read somewhere once that the human ear cannot detect the direction ‘sub base’ comes from. The example being that a sub woofer in a surround sound can be located ‘anywhere’ in a room, whilst the other speakers had to be in the correct position. (These speakers are behind back drop on the stage)

I doubt anyone would notice the difference between the base with mesh or skrim in front of it.

If they’ve used Skrim before and it was OK, I’d do the same.
