Hi Has anybody fitted any of these, they come pre-cut.and with application/ positioning tape applied

I have been asked to do one and and have not used this material before.

The A’s are scotchlite and after searching on here seems they could be quite tricky to fit, especially around the rear wheel arch, can you use heat on this material?
also they come with application tape pre-fitted
Any tips tricks would be much appreciated.

I have fitted them before, I think the AA make them in house and i’ve received / fitted two types.

the first is a black 3m reflective, to fit it feels much like the cheaper foil-backed engineering reflectives, certainly doesn’t feel like what i’d expect a 3m product to feel like,

the hard part (on vivaro / traffic at least) is aligning it, you havd to allow for the recesses and it has to be fed in rather than heated in. not difficult to do the fitting, just the aligning, the bottom is harder, i treated it pretty much as a flood, placing / tensing the decal across the highest points first, i then used a bit of heat on the last bit as i needed. stretched it basically, it didn’t really show when reflected.

the second is the more modern looking bevelled ‘A’s, these are a more supple vinyl to feel, black is printed over the top, I think it was 3m but again, didn’t like it to work with but it went on ok.

Fitted over 100 of the AA vans.

The kits we are supplied with the ‘AA’ comes in 4 parts.

2 tops and two bottoms to allow for the recess (there is a join)

Maybe the kit/supplier (SSDM) has changed but it was 3m control tack with the fade in the ‘AA’.

not so much it being boring, the old AA was boring too but acceptable. the new ones just badly designed and laid out bad, looks like the designer just found the bevel & emboss key in photoshop. 🙄 :lol1:

the couple that I have done that involved the sides did not have two piece letters, they were one piece and 1.5m tall! bit of a pain to get taped into position.

can’t say I have much opinion on the design, it is what it is! can’t see why it needs to be so big though, if you ever see a yellow van the 1st thing that goes through your mind is "AA van", 2nd is usually "ex AA van"! they don’t really need any signs!
