A thought for JC, 3 years on!
Posted by Martin Cole on May 3, 2013 at 10:25 amAs we enjoy this gorgeous sunny day could we spare a thought for our friend ‘John Childs’ who passed away 3 years ago today.
I still miss him and my thoughts go to Jenny, Ben and family.
I’ll raise a glass to you tonight John!

aye, I’ll raise one this evening to the big guy.
was thinking of him the other day, as I stripped out my old workshop I took the note off the wall which had his name / number / paypal address and a record of a few installments on a job lot of materials I bought from him. After all the help and advice he gave me – I couldn’t throw it away so have brought it to the new shop!

3 years? Hard to believe. Have copied an email from him across a number of computers now where he took the time to take pics of his workshop set up for me.
Missed everyday on here. Suaimhneas síoraí dó. -
He was a great guy and is sadly missed by many. I can’t believe it’s three years ago, seems like only yesterday.

He was a good guy.
A hell of a guy, actually, I will never forget his & Jenny’s visit here.
And his constant graciousness.
I lost another dear sign friend last month, Arthur Vanson.
It’s always the good ones, you know?
Love….Jill -
I was chatting about him with John Thomson on Wednesday night in the Hilton at the NEC. How I had fell asleep on the seats a few feet from where we sat at around 5am and John and Chris Dowd ordered food, THEN "sneaked off" to their beds leaving me sleeping. I woke up later with the cleaners buffing the floor as people got up the next morning. :lol1: :lol1:
Good times, and seems like only yesterday… -
A good guy
Friendly banter
Healthy contributor to the boards
Sadly missed by us all -
I asked John a question regarding wrapping and at the show this year the answer John gave me back then was still valid when talking to a visitor.
Mr.Childs you are sorely missed.

Yeah surprising to see John at our stand that year and then he leaves us.
