Please spare a thought for John who passed away 2 years ago today,
Also to Jenny & Ben Childs and family.

Still greatly missed on the boards. I’m sure many of of on here think of John and the great contributions he made a regular basis.

As Shane has said in the past, you almost feel sorry for the new members that never experienced John’s great wisdom and always sound advice.

Here’s to you John..gone but not forgotten

as above. still think of him when I see certain jobs, come across his old posts when searching for something, or even one of those big bikes!

    rip John.

when my laser printer isn’t piled up with paperwork and catalogues, I’m reminded of him almost every day – there’s a note pinned to the wall just above the printer with his email, number and the dates of the few installments I paid him for some stock he didn’t want and I did – it’s 3yrs old now but part of the decor, i’m sure when I eventually get a workshop that i’ll be coming with me as a reminder of the help and advice he offered.

My thoughts go out to his family today. They should be proud that he is held in such high esteem and fondly remembered by so many. 😀

Typical of the helpful man he was, he sent me a detailed email on his workshop set-up just before he passed. I can’t delete it either.

    Often missed and never forgotten.

    Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here on behalf of my Mum, sister and myself for the comments above. It’s been said before but it makes us proud that he was held in such high regard by so many of you and I’m sure he would have been happy that so many of you valued his advice.
    Miss you Dad.

was it two years ago that we were at signuk, then just after the show he died.. It was a shock as I did ask him how his health was, has reply sounded like he was not great but brushed it under the mat.

I enjoyed our banter, we got told off by him when we deserved to be put in our place. 😀

    Cheers John.

    Hi Ben,
It’s coming up to 4 years since I lost my dad and it still hurts.

It’s our right to keep your dad’s memory alive.
I firmly believe he was very instrumental in how many of us run our businesses today,

It will be nice when the first recipient receives the award in memory of John, that Rob is kindly donating.

    2 Years, unbelievable!

The very last time i was with John he was pulling a prank on me with Chris Dowd.

Along with others from UKSB The three of us had been out for a meal and drinks at Sign & Digital in the NEC Birmingham.
We ended up in the bar at the Hilton, I forget the time but must have been about 4am-5am everyone had headed to bed. The cleaners were buffing the floors and there the 3 of us were still sat drinking. If i remember correctly we ordered breakfast. :lol1: anyway, there we were babbling allot of drunken nonsense…
Next thing I know, I am opening my eyes, folk walking about, tables being set staff arriving for work and so on all ready for the day ahead. theres me slouched asleep sucking my thumb in the corner. 😳 :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

both John and Chris decided it was a good idea to "not disturb me" and krept off and left me. :lol1:

Never did get to get my own back on him… great memories all the same. 😀
