I’ve been asked to make a standing sign from a 24” tyre for a garage round the corner. I’ve got the base and everything sorted but my plan is to attach 3mm acrylic board to the inside of the tyre where the wheel would sit and then apply vinyl onto the acrylic. My only problem is how do I actually attach the acrylic to the tyre? Is there anyway I can bond the board to the tyre? or would you attach it in a different way?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

One way would be to cut the acrylic the same size as the wheel and them use something like penlock or even silicone to attach it to the tyre. The panel would sit against the tyre wall as the rim of a trye normally would.
Probably wouldn’t use acrylic though, I would probably use a bit of composite board,

if the tyre was on a rim the job would be neater and more robust as as martin says use 3mm composite and attach to the rim.

cut the circle to fit inside the tyre and use an inner tube, inflated to hold it in position…?
