    A Big Thank You to Roland

    As the title says…….a big thank you to Roland, Brett Newman and his team for giving a group of UKSB people an exclusive insight into Roland’s new ‘metallic’ printer at Sign Ireland yesterday.

    Brett even had to stop speaking to us when a member of the sign press realised how much info was being divulged on a machine that still has an information embargo on it.

    The basics are……it is a 54 inch print/cut machine that prints CMYK, white and metallic ink as both fades and spot colours…….I think all other manufacturers will be desperate to release a machine that does the same…….having seen the print effects I believe this technology will quickly become a ‘must have’ in most sign shops.

    Well i would just like to second Johns (good to meet you again) thanks to Roland especially Bret who made everyone feel as if they are part of the Roland Team.

    Joe, Chris great to meet you, sorry i didn’t get to say goodbye before you went hope you enjoyed the the Dublin night life, you made my quiet walk into a laugh a minute. I sincerely hope you both get a SatNav for Christmas.

    Marcella & Harry pleasure to meet you even if it was only for a few hours. Harry if you do find a printer & want a bit of help to find your way around it, get in touch. I won’t take much persuading to visit Ireland again & i have promised the wife that i’ll take her with me next time so it would give me a reason to keep my promise. Marcella good to meet you, great to sit & chat with you & the others. I have not heard the expression "Hen" used since i was very young.

    Peter cheers for welcoming me into your home at a very early hour & allowing me to block your drive up with my van whilst we were in Ireland.
    You are a true gent & scholar.

    Once i have caught up i’ll try & write up some technical views of the advances they have made on this machine and in my opinion its good to see that Roland have thought this advancement out and only released it once they had a sure fire solution to have it working & not require major updates or modifications 3 months down the line.

    Anyway as i say more later

    Was good to catch up with you Kevin ………. and I’ve got a few dodgy photos even though you did your best to avoid getting caught on camera! 😉
    Harry and Peter, thanks to you both for looking after me on thursday night, and Peter you were a great chaperone all day friday – I’ve now got a taste for guinness after our trip to the guinness Storeroom! :lol1:
    I’m totally exhausted tho – got home from Dublin at 10pm on friday night and then was driving south to Manchester on saturday morning for a family party! Back home now and need to detox!!!! 😳

    No, I don’t think you’re a stalker! 🙂 I am Commercial Sales Manager here at Roland DG Australia. Worked here just over 5 years now however my family and I have used the Roland product for many years – hence wanting to work for the company.

    This is the first time I have used the forum so still trying to find my way around it.
