    Well it’s that time again!
Let the games and the banter begin!
Good luck to all over the next 6 weeks and may the best team win.
Pleased to see the Welsh u20’s win over Ireland tonight, just hope the seniors can live up to the youngsters performance.

Yep, can’t wait. Good win for your U20’s tonight, thought they where gonna get pipped, they missed enough to win it twice. Some nice looking players coming through though.
Can’t call tomorrow, heart and head confused! πŸ˜€

Wales U20 first ten mins was great, brilliant scrum but awful kicking, missed what.. 18-21 points in penalties? I thought Ireland were the more consistent team.. consistently losing the scrum, consistently losing the lineout etc.!!!

can’t wait til the 20th Feb, off to Rome for a week with rugby in the middle!

Ah HERE NOW!! I was being nice until the big game kicked off! πŸ˜€
We turned you over plenty in the second half and had the backs been a bit more clinical we would have come away with the points. Not often the visitors and losers come away with the man of the match award either! I am very happy that we have some adventurous emerging talent.
And you guys could do with being less cynical in the rucks and mauls!
    Yours Sincerely
    Annoyed in Ireland! πŸ˜€

Doesn’t give me a lot of pleasure saying this but based on today’s games I would think Ireland have more than a good chance of a victory next round.
The Irish have had a potentially good team for a couple of years now at least but I think they have let themselves down when it counted. They have probably beaten themselves a few times over the last couple of years rather than the opposition beating them lol.

italy looked pretty strong, England at home are always gonna be tough to best -unless you’re Wales! I desperately want to see Scotland win a game, for the smallest (6)nation they work so hardbut always fall just short, to see them win yesterday woulda made me smile;- and bannockburn RFC, most of whom were on tour down here… drinking our town dry!

This time last year I was watching games, 99% certain that no-one was getting through our defence, that solid defence almost certainly won us that 6nations grand slam, This year I have extra beer to cry in to… just in case!

Fabulous weekend of rugby! Best opening weekend I ever seen. You couldn’t call a game now, everyone has the potential to win a game.
Was hoping France would beat Italy…never nice waiting for a potential French backlash, at least we have them at home.
Ireland v England next Sunday at Lansdowne Road…can we repeat yesterday? Can’t call it.

    Not out loud anyway!

I may just have to break my Lenten fast and get the beers in for next weekend. England v Wales….what a delicious prospect!
Delighted that it has come down to this, a championship/Grand Slam decider. We have to wait all year for this tournament, glad it wasn’t done and dusted at the weekend!
I think England’s shock wake up call yesterday may just give them the edge.

The 6 Nations, the competition that keeps giving! πŸ˜€
Couldn’t appreciate the final match as I got my dates wrong (thought the final match was Sunday) and was in the middle of a St. Paddy’s day rush of work.
Well done Wales, you flattered us in game 1 and flattened England in game 5.

Hopefully we will get a ‘Kidney’ transplant now and get cracking on a decent team for the World Cup.

not a great year for Ireland, shame really but it can’t always be a good year – eh England?

Still, Harry, on the bright side for Ireland, the Ireland women did what the Eglish men couldn’t do and won the womens 6nations Grandslam!!

Yes, the ladies did a supreme job Hugh.

I am hugely excited by the talent coming through in the Irish side as O’Gara, O’Driscoll, and a few others probably say their goodbyes.
If we could convince Conor O’Shea (Harlequins) to take the coaching job now we would be serious contenders I reckon. I love the brand of rugby he wants his teams to play and I think it could be played here with the new squad members. But I am probably dreaming, he doesn’t seem ready to accept the Irish team challenge just yet.

that’s a shame Harry, I don’t know anything about the guy to be honest but if you reckon he’s the man for the job – that’s good enough for me!

now is when all the home nations need to be looking to the future and preparing properly, I think all four nations have got a very good base with which to take on the southern hemi’ big boys, we just need more comeptition at international level.
