When Morgan Signs decided to purchase a RollsRoller Flatbed Applicator they were not deterred by limited access to a tight working environment. With the skills and experience of William Smith’s installation engineers the machine was expertly maneuvered into position.
"It was a very tight and difficult installation that took four hours to complete," says Morgan Signs’ Production Director, Rod Hill. "The RollsRoller was lifted by gantry to first floor level, turned on its side in order to pass through double doors into the workroom and then swung round into position.

William Smith’s engineers measured and drew up a plan beforehand and everything went absolutely accurately."
Morgan Signs use the RollsRoller for interior and exterior applications, such as retail point of sale and outdoor events.
"We decided to purchase a RollsRoller Applicator as applying vinyl graphics and digital print to substrates by hand took too much time and quality was often substandard. We are now achieving consistently good quality results and increased production speeds. And there is an added bonus in terms of Health & Safety as it improves procedures such as those relating to manual handling and back strain.

"On-site training from William Smith was very good. All our questions were answered and we were also given some useful suggestions and tips for using the machine. It is a very easy machine to learn to operate."
Mr. Hill concludes: "It’s an excellent machine; we’re very happy with it. It does exactly what it says it does and it was well worth the effort involved to install it."

The Rolls Roller Flatbed Applicator is simple to use and offers one of the easiest and most accurate methods of applying self-adhesive films and graphics onto many flat substrates. It can be operated effectively by a single operator and represents a highly cost-efficient alternative to traditional applicating systems. It offers significant benefits, not only in increased productivity, faster production times and cost savings, but also in terms of health and safety of operators. The unique design of the machine incorporates an automatically adjustable roller height facility to accommodate different substrates, up to 70mm thickness.

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL FOR SMALL SIGN MANUFACTURERS

What’s fast, reliable, saves time, saves money, never takes a day off or goes sick – and everyone who has one wonders how they ever managed before?

The answer, in just three words, is the RollsRoller Flatbed Applicator. This fantastic machine is having significant impact not only on large sign manufacturers but also on smaller businesses such as Signs Express franchisees, with machines already installed at several franchises across the UK.

It’s easy to install, easy to use and, because it can be operated effectively by a single individual, the RollsRoller is highly cost efficient. It has enabled franchisees to increase profitability, discover new ways of working, and even opened up new business opportunities, as they explain –

“Although we purchased the RollsRoller specifically for the application of large format vinyl graphics to board, we now also use it for other work, such as applying application tape where we can save time by grouping jobs together and putting them through as a single run.” – Neil Fraser, Glasgow

“The RollsRoller has opened up several new avenues to us. For example, we produce graphics for hoardings and this has improved the process by reducing manufacturing time enabling us to get the product to the customer in a shorter lead time” – Lee Eaton, Manchester

The RollsRoller represents one of the easiest and most accurate methods of applying graphics, letters or logos and application tape to many flat substrates. It is suitable for use on flexible face skins and banners, large format digital prints and other self-adhesive materials, as well as rigid sign panels up to 70mm thick.

Recommendations from Signs Express franchisees more than endorse the benefits of the RollsRoller for small sign manufacturing businesses –

“It’s a fantastic bit of kit – probably the best investment we have made in 10 years of trading.” – Lee Eaton, Manchester

“We’re very pleased with our purchase. All the staff are very enthused by it and keen to use it. I’d certainly recommend it.” – Nick Baxley-Sibley, Exeter

    TRIPLE WHAMMY FOR NUNEATON SIGNS

The first two RollsRoller Flatbed Applicators installed by Nuneaton Signs did their job so well and generated so much additional work that the company has now purchased a third machine from William Smith.

“To put it simply, we needed it!” says Nuneaton Signs’ Workshop Manager, Stuart Benfield. “We needed additional capacity to handle the volume of work that the other two RollsRollers have enabled us to generate.”

Nuneaton Signs’ main area of production had been road traffic signs, but the time savings and improved quality of finish achieved with the RollsRollers enabled them to undertake higher volumes of digital print work and develop this into a profitable area of the business.

“Because we are able to turn over more work, whilst maintaining a high quality, the volume of contracts we have taken on has also increased.”

“The first two machines have already paid for themselves”

The RollsRoller Flatbed Applicator offers significant benefits, not only in increased productivity, faster production times and cost savings, but also in terms of health and safety of operators. It is simple to use and offers one of the easiest and most accurate methods of applying self-adhesive films and graphics onto many flat substrates. It can be operated effectively by a single operator and represents a highly cost-efficient alternative to traditional laminating systems. Time savings of 50-80% can be achieved, dependent upon the type of application.

The RollsRoller is available in 8 different size models and is wheel mounted for ease of mobility. It is easy to install and requires only a standard power and air supply. An optional air compressor is available if required. Full training is provided at the time of installation to ensure that purchasers achieve the best results and maximise the potential of the machine.
