3D Printing built-up illuminated letters
I remember when 3D printing was just a buzz-word and the subject of them being capable of printing a 3D was discussed on UKSB some years ago. I know pretty much everything from boats, bikes and even houses can be 3D printed in concrete.
As the machines get faster and the print material options get stronger, coloured, and finer detailed, it is only a matter of time before complete 3D Printed Signs become the norm.
I remember one of the winners at the 2019 ISA-UK sign awards (Signs Express) had 3D printed Bull which was used on several signs they did for an English Pub, and won their category.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that there is a list of Pro’s and Cons of manufacturing using this method and I for one, much prefer the traditional highly skilled fabrication method. but still, it is interesting to see how our industry is evolving.
