That took me back!!!! I’ve been to Paul Ricard and along those fab roads in the south of france on a bike (CBR1000) many years ago! My hubby and I spent 4 weeks touring France/Switzerland/Germany.
It’s a fantastic area to ride a bike!

Takes me back to when I did the France Belgium Holland thing on my SV650 😀

The French roads really are good for bike riding, much better than the UK.

Sold my bike to buy my Dodge Charger though 🙁

Hugh – it’s Shaky from Fastbikes (journalist), used to be a GP rider.

My hubby made a similar vid with a camera strapped to a fireblade whilst travelling at great speeds round the Isle of Man on Mad Sunday! Scary stuff, just as well I didn’t know a thing about it until afterwards 👿

lol !! on another forum i use, there’s a guy going on about his 575bhp cossie (yeah right) beating any super bike, apart from the fact he’s offering £10k to race any bike, he’s neglecting the fact that he spent £23k building his, i’m at the stage now where i’ve just had enough, i know what it takes for a car to go as fast as he says his will go, but he’s bluffing now, won’t race at a drag strip cos he wants 1mile, and he wont race the true fastest street legal cars cos he ‘only races for money’ !! now a guy with a turbo’s hyabusa has just come on the scene and i think someone is about to put up the money, this’ll be fun ! theturbo’d busa apparently does 197mph !!

the guy has no respect for fast bikes, my cuda was fast, 0-105 in 6 secs, and the only time i took on a bike on the roads, i lost big time, some ducati or another, neck and neck to 100mph, then he was just gone ! this guy needs a lesson in bluffing i think !

i’ve always fancied a big bike, but i reckon i’d soon be another statistic !

I know where you’re coming from there – I always wanted a Yamaha V Max – but whilst they are a real blast in a straight line, they are rubbish at corners !

Then I wanted a Fireblade…..ended up with the SV, as whilst it was pretty quick in short sprints, it was very controlable.

    Keep thinking about getting another….

Even the 600’s nowadays will make a fool of most cars.
I have an R1 at the mo n=and it is seriously quick and easy with it too.
I’ve had yamahas since the exup came out with a blade a CBR 6 and an SP1 in between.
I laugh at them youv’e got to have at least 300+ bhp in a car to get even near to the acceleration on a liter bike and then you will be lookin at the back tyre for a while untill it’s gone.
On that vid I recon they never topped 120 mph no front wheel lifting of its own accord, you need really on most roads to be above that to get it all the time. enough before I bore you all.

i save my riding for the track, if you ride like that on the road its not a matter of ‘if’ it’s ‘when’ you come off.!

Difference is, you are more likely to slide under oncoming traffic, kurbs, telegraph poles etc…

I have crashed at 150mph at Donnington and escaped a little bruised and burnt (slid most of the way on the tarmac) but otherwise fine.

I did used to ride like that on the road but had one too mant scares 😮

Shakey is Shane Byrne, riding for Rizla Suzuki in British Superbikes this year.Former BSB Champion who made an unsuccessful move to Moto GP for a couple of years.

Sorry guys, as you might have guessed, bikes are my thing! 😀
