*** Vinyl “Card tube” inserts

Below is a picture of something I do pretty regularly. Its not anything techy as you can see but works very well and makes use of those, until now, useless card tubes we have left over from spent rolls of vinyl.
If you have seen the demo I have done using panatrim you will be aware I try and do everything possible in-house to eliminate any onsite jobs/tasks that we would normally carry out.
In this case it is a fascia about 35 feet long with raised letters. I have laid up the template in house, drilled and attached the nylon locators.
My problem is now transporting them. As most will know loading the sign face to face onto the van reduces the risk of any scratches to the face. Because of the screws I have did the opposite & faced them back-to-back. So as the screws can only damage the rear of the sign if anything.
That bit solved how do I deal with the nylon locator rubbing/scoring the shine off the gloss fascia panel.
Well, as you can see the card tubes come in very handy. The ones I used on the bottom also prevent the ladders / cat-walk scoring the panels…
Not the best tip but a simple one that may come in handy some time for someone out there!
