  • Mimaki Software Problem – help installing please?

    Posted by Marcus O'Neill on 29 January 2015 at 11:33

    Hi all, I have recently bought a Mimaki JV3 SP2 printer & a Mimaki CG 130FX Cutter second hand off a neighbouring sign company. I have a problem getting the software installed.
    I now use windows 7 so the Mimaki software & drivers were windows 2000/XP! I have downloaded the proper drivers from the Mimaki web site but the computer still wants me to insert CD ROM which is out of date???
    The RIP software that came with the printer is SHIRAZ V6 but its for windows 2000/XP too!!!!
    I currently use Signlab 7.1 which should run the printer??? Has anyone got any ideas what to try??? Thanks Marcus.

    Have you got a separate RIP PC? Might be worth just getting one and sticking WIn XP on it. We do the same with Shiraz.

    Hi Jon,
    Thanks for the reply. That might be an idea as I have a spare pc with windows XP Professional installed on it.
    How does that then be linked with the other system….Networked?
    Cheers!

    I can help you with all things Shiraz as I am a reseller.

    What version are you running? If you click on the ‘about’ button in either Server or Design, it will tell you a version (v6.x) and a build number (bxxxx). Let me know what they are and I should be able to advise you.

    I’m not sure I’m allowed to do that to be honest.

    The manuals should be in your installed version anyway, under Shiraz\doc\en (if you want English)….

    Did you get the manuals Marcus?

    Just to keep this post up to date, all manuals for Shiraz v6.x can be found in the installed folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Shiraz v6.x\Doc\

    Within that folder you have the following languages:

    DE = German
    EN = English
    ES = Spanish
    FR = French
    IT = Italian

    Thanks Stanford,
    Problem was solved by the seller giving me his XP pc. The software was already installed on it!

    Thanks for your help!

    Marcus 😀
