Hi phill. Seen this a few times, it’s a masterclass in the use of social media & ‘having a member of staff for every clip & bolt’ . I often dream about my Geordie shore & one direction customers swanning in to hug me & tell me how wonderful I am innit bruv whilst handing me a cheque for £7000. Instead I find myself fending off gangs of travelers wanting us to drop everything for them right now, the phone ringing every thirty seconds & trainees asking for time off to go to festivals. I’m not bitter.

Perfect example of the right place at the right time.
Not sour as he’s obviously doing well but its all show and no go with himself

I find the only difficulty with wrapping is the dismantling & rebuilding. I’m greeted with horror when I tell a client that I’m about to take the door handles off his 5 year old Renault trafic so to have a team of guys well versed in removing all of the obstacles like mirrors, door handles & the like & it’s pretty much straight forward, but they have built a great brand with the skinny jeans & gold trainer brigade to be fair

Best thing we had happen was a mechanic move into one of the unit’s opposite. He’s stripped the handles before we’ve finished cleaning it 😆

I’ve seen one episode, looks like they’ve a good set up, but can’t say I found it overly entertaining.

This guy, and his business is massive on YouTube. Something like over a million subs to the channel. The TV show appears to be on the back of this.

I’ve not caught any episodes on TV, but have watched quite a few of his YouTube vids.

Just watched a few videos on youtube, shows little of the skills required to actually fit wrap film properly, little of the effort and time it can take to remove panels, grille insterts, lights etc etc.

I’d put it in the same category as 60 minute makeover, diy sos etc. more about a ‘show’ than the skill invovled.

Clever marketing though, and if it pushes more work our way as a result then who are we to judge!

I enjoyed the program. Yianni came across as a genuine guy who cared about his customers and was doing his best for them. As Hugh says this shows the possibilities and the fact they are doing this with high value cars moves the bar upmarket taking it away from the bottom end of the market where many regard vinyl wrapping as a cheap alternative to paint.

But phill have you seen what they’re doing to the cars?! It’s a masterclass in money can’t buy you taste.

Fair enough the man has found his niche but it doesn’t help raise the profile of the industry.
If anything I think it’s detrimental, from how it’s portrayed, wrapping will be seen as what you go for when you haven’t really grown up from the boy racer stage but you’ve come in to some money [emoji23]

I understand they want to make an entertaining tv show and the easy way to do that is by creating things that are controversial but I happened across a Facebook advert for the show, the comments though quite amusing were not very positive about the program, the clients and the man himself.

Seen some of his youtube videos and to be honest you have to hand it to them they certainly seem to be making some serious money very quickly. And they are very popular and it all looks so easy 😆 Beats standing on top of a tower in freezing rain trying to fit a shop front trying to get the old one down full of rusted screws.

Was thinking exactly this, although granted its not shop signage, it shows the job as quite a glamorous job and a great earner.
I didnt realise just how many people he has working for him (maybe just added to the show to add to ego) but he must be charging a fortune for the services he offers.

I could tint windows and refurb wheels for under £400, i imagine not much change from 1k
