Typical download size: 66.9 MB , 26 minutes
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) is an update to Windows XP that addresses key feedback from our customers and is a cumulative update that includes all previously released updates for Windows XP, including security updates. Windows XP SP3 contains a small number of new updates and should not significantly change the Windows XP experience
you can never be too sure eh?

I downloaded and installed it on one of the office pc’s yesterday took about half hour and no problems, only thing it complained about is i have updates set to download and not install but it wanted to change this to download and auto install.

Big download but the machine runs perfectly now you would not even know it has been updated, have used it in afternoon so can say CS3 Illistrator runs on it.

    Regards

    Russell.

I have been running 3 PC’s on SP2 to date without problems.
I declined to update since if it all goes wrong I imagine MS will not be over helpful on their old OS.
I know you can roll back but as the saying goes – if it ain’t broke…..

Be careful upgrading to this if using Troop, tried to print today but can not find printer, do not know what problem is but only change since print yesterday is SP3.

To update above post, when printing from Illistrator to Troop, it ripped it then when opened print spooler it came up with unable to find printer message altough the correct ip address was in this box.

Tried a couple of restarts with no luck, in the end the solution was to just drop a jpeg file direct into Troop it riped and printed and now prints from Illistrator.

Do not know if this was SP3 problem however i have never seen anything like this before yesterday.

    Regards

    Russell.

I would advise not to do it at the moment. My main business is IT support and I’ve installed it on a few clients pcs. With any service pack or major update I’ll always install on one or two identical machines where possible and monitor things. Some have been fine, some not so fine. I recall similar issues with initial releases of SP2. I wont be installing SP3 again for some time.
