    hi chaps and all,

been having this prob on X5, on laptop and work pc, never happens in cdr12.

any ideas what i can do please? i’ve tried to convert to curves, welc, etc etc. no good, getting annoying having to contour individual missing bits and then weld together!

    cheers,
    Hugh

Poor quality font. Probably revere the direction of one of the loops and it will work. From past experiences

    Hi Hugh,

Here’s an alternative method I use when it happens to me…

Duplicate text, add stroke path (twice the width of what your contour would have been), convert stroke to path and weld with duplicate text. Then move this behind your original text/object.

Slightly more long winded but it does seem to fix this problem with the added bonus of controlling how Corel Draw treats the outer points of the contour (sharp corners or rounded according to your stroke path settings).

    Good luck!

    thank you Dave,

I’ll try to remember that next time it happens (never does it in cdr12!)

welcome to the forum by the way.

I’m with chris on this, I seem to remember that Draw changed the way it sorted the winding from X3 onwards. I’ve had a similar thing with Signlab when shadow hasn’t worked propery. change the winding (curve direction) and problem sorted. Often happens with imported clipart – files from other programmes and cheap fonts, some are worse than others. If you can see all the shapes correctly in wireframe thats normally a clue also check that 1st and last node are joined and not just on top of each other.
